Almost all destinations have a particular season in which visitors prefer to come. From theme parks and tropical destinations in the heat of summer to ski resorts in the coldest part of winter, each destination has a peak season. What many travelers do not know that that by missing this peak period by even a matter of days or weeks, travel expenses are greatly reduced while the quality of the trip can be greatly enhanced. Today we will look at 5 ways to beat the summer heat by traveling in the offseason.
The first example of this is popular theme parks. In the middle of summer, theme parks are so busy that it can take over two hours to board a single ride. The temperatures can exceed one hundred degrees, and many people find themselves irritable and overheated. By booking a trip outside the peak season cutoffs, guests will find significantly shorter lines, lower temperatures, and greatly reduced accommodation prices. This does not mean that travelers must visit in winter, either, as peak season generally lasts only a few months.
Beach vacations in the offseason are another way to beat the heat. In most tropical and subtropical climates, the temperature exceeds ninety degrees well after the end of the peak season for tourists. This means far fewer people at the beach, letting you choose where you wish to sunbathe, swim, or shop without competing with hundreds of other people for the same spot or item.
European vacations outside of the hot summer are considerably more enjoyable for many visitors. Peak tourist seasons bring hundreds of thousands of visitors, creating an atmosphere of tension and making historical tours crowded and far less informative than if guide are only bringing a small group of visitors. Hotels and flights are significantly cheaper as well, and many travelers find that they have a more enjoyable overall experience by traveling in the September to May offseason.
Visitors to the Caribbean find significant reason to travel in the offseason, which entails April and May as well as September through early January. The weather is beautiful during this period, and the average vacation is hundreds of dollars cheaper per person than during the peak season. The crowds are also significantly smaller, giving travelers a more realistic view of what life is like for natives outside of tourist season.
Perhaps one of the best off season trips to take, however, is to New England in the summer. The land is beautiful and there are many things to do, but because the foliage season in early autumn is considered peak season, the summers are largely free of overcrowding. For people visiting from locales farther south, New England is an excellent destination for people looking to beat the summer heat.
